Bring in your unwanted arts and crafts supplies and abandoned projects so they can find a new home. Bring your current project and stick around for an extra Handcraft Tuesday program. DASH for the STASH at Alexandria Library

Local residents are encouraged to compete in the 2016 DASH for the STASH, an investor education and protection program and contest taking place March 15 - May 15, 2016 at all Alexandria Library locations. The winner will receive a $1,000 contribution to an existing or new Individual Retirement Account (IRA) for 2016. One statewide winner will be chosen in a random drawing of eligible participants who logged the correct answer for all four posters. 




Duncan Branch Book Discussion Group

On Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m., the Duncan Branch Book Group will discuss The Road Not Taken by David Orr. The book's subtitle is "Finding America in the Poem Everyone Loves and Almost Everyone Gets Wrong." Whether you have read the book or not, or whether you understand the poem's true meaning or, like so many others, have been taught to draw the wrong message from it, the evening's discussion should be informative and reflective.

Enhancing your Lifestyle with Less Sight

Join Beatley Central Library on Thursday, March 10, at 1:30 p.m. for a special presentation with Joan Gilliard, Low Vision Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist. Learn about accessibility techniques and skills to enhance our lives inside and outside of our homes. Ms. Gilliard works with people exclusively in Virginia and has vast experience and contacts with many eye care professionals and rehabilitation specialists. Refreshments and parking are free.
