Celebrate Black History Month by joining us for a discussion of James McBride's memoir.

James McBride retraces his mother's footsteps and, through her searing and spirited voice, recreates her remarkable story. Interspersed throughout his mother's compelling narrative, McBride shares candid recollections of his own experiences as a mixed-race child of poverty, his flirtations with drugs and violence, and his eventual self-realization and professional success.

Burke Book Club meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.  It is a monthly book discussion group through the Burke Branch Library.
