Join Let's Talk Books book discussion club to read and discuss "Stony the Road" by Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

Stony the Road: Reconstruction, White Supremacy, and the Rise of Jim Crow studies the time between emancipation of enslaved African Americans and the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s. In this book, Gates, a revered scholar and culture critic, explains what transpired in the after Civil War and the institutionalization of racist practices that continue to plague the country.
