On Saturday, October 5, 2019, Alexandria Library is hosting its annual bicycle tour of all Alexandria Library locations.
Bring your bike and join library staff for a leisurely 2-hour loop starting and ending at Beatley Central, 5005 Duke Street.
Registration for the event is required, as space on the tour is limited. Riders must be at least 13 years old to participate*. Children and teens under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
If participants are riding their own bike, they must be at least 13 years old and can comfortably ride 10+ miles with some hills. Younger children are permitted to attend if they are on a bicycle attached to the parent (tandem, extra cycle, trailer). All children and teens under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Participants must sign a waiver/release of liability and parental consent/release agreement which is available online for printing. The waiver will also be provided the day of the tour for signing.
Helmets are required.
Check-in will start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 5 at Beatley Central Library located at 5005 Duke Street. Onsite parking is available.
Tour will begin at 10 a.m. and end at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Distance is approximately 13 miles and will be at a leisurely pace. The route involves a couple of hills.
Amap of the tour will be provided.
Snacks and water will be provided.
In case of inclement weather the event will be cancelled. Staff will contact registered participants to confirm cancellation.
Parking: The library has a large parking lot with 175 spaces.
